In June 2010,there was the highest water level in Vistula river since many years.Water managed to soak through the embankments and threaten the houses about 2 km away from the river!Soldiers,firemen and volunteers had to reinforce the embankments with bags of sand.Fortunately,the danger passed before the water reached houses.

Yes,well,it actually looked pretty

But when the water level dropped,it wasn't so nice anymore,plenty of mud and slime.

I understand about the mess after the water receded

it will take a while for things to get back to normal...
